SSAT’s Children’s Charter – Audit Tool
This CPD pack is for colleagues in mainstream secondary, primary and special schools, and provides schools with three planned and resourced whole-school CPD sessions. It is linked to our Children’s Charter – a pledge to children and the 6 principles of the Charter:
- Session 1: Why this is needed now – Explores the real lived experience of learners in school and brings together recent/current research and data, including video clips from Professor Barry Carpenter and training resources that can be shared with the whole school as a starting point to answer “Why” this is needed now.
- Session 2: Identifying priorities – Explores where the school is and what their learners are saying. Prior to this session the school will have carried out pre-audit tasks which are included in the pack. This will lead to discussion within the session to identify priorities for their learners against the principles within the Children’s Charter.
- Session 3: Action planning – Having identified the key area(s) for development the school will undertake a SWOT analysis which in turn will lead to an action plan.
In the pack you will be provided with:
- Powerpoint presentations. The sessions are intended to be a minimum of 1 hour duration.
- Facilitator notes.
- The audit tool that covers the 6 principles of the Children’s Charter – a pledge for children.
- An action plan template.
- Links to additional resources and research to support your thinking and action planning.
This is a pre-paid resource. Find out more about the audit tool.
