SSAT Journal 07 – Autumn 2016
The Autumn 2016 edition of the SSAT Journal provides articles that focus on: solutions to the recruitment and retention challenges; one school’s attempt to improve data literacy for all teachers; matters of pedagogy, curriculum and leadership; and a report on the SSAT Annual Lecture in which we debated the true purpose of education.
These innovations come at a time when we know schools are under immense pressure. As curriculum, assessment and accountability changes become embedded, there are new challenges and reforms to contend with. The articles included offer much to learn from. None of the ideas presented are silver bullets, magic solutions or the only way to do something. At SSAT, we aim to provide fresh ideas for ambitious schools, and we present these ideas for you to adopt, adapt, reject but most of all, consider.
