The transformative power of coaching in secondary schools: A personal journey
Sophie Enstone, Assistant Principal, Learning and Teaching, Goffs Academy
“The reason we chose SSAT, in particular, is due to the fact that we had conversations with the presenter and established what would support us best, for our context and our stage in the journey. The bespoke element of the training session on coaching had the desired impact as it had been fully adapted to our school’s needs. I would highly recommend the course to any school, even if they are at a different stage in their journey, given the tailored element.”
My experience of coaching and why I think it’s so valuable
Angelina Idun, Director, SSAT
“I am passionate about the contribution I’m able to make to growing and developing leadership in others. This is such a central and immensely rewarding aspect of any leadership role. I do believe all those dawn and dusk, corridor, break duty, formal and informal conversations go some way to releasing the potential of those we work with. I’ve found that drawing on knowledge of coaching and the skills and training, topped up at regular intervals, is invaluable to these conversations.”
