In June of this year, work began in earnest to construct a whole new website, ready for the start of the 2013/14 academic year. Whilst many enjoyed the sunny beaches of France, Spain and Bognor Regis, a small team of staff embarked on a treacherous online journey towards Tuesday 3 September 2013. The day has come, and all is (mostly) calm – you are hopefully enjoying our new-look website and all the swanky new features it has to offer. We have aimed to make the site more logical, easier to navigate, more aesthetically inspiring and ultimately, a nicer place to be. Hopefully, you will find we’ve hit our targets and made a positive and lasting impression on you.
Some aspects of the site are still under construction and we kindly ask for your patience whilst we fine-tune these areas. The website will never be ‘finished’, which is both exciting and daunting in equal measures!
Charles Mills must be thanked for his role as Project Manager, navigating impressively through choppy seas to our 3 September deadline. Jane Birbeck for her extensive input during the design phase of the project – much of what you see on the site is a result of Jane’s invaluable contribution. Thank you to Glyn Barritt and Julian Elve for their IT wizardry – they asked questions and raised issues that would otherwise have passed by the wayside.
A huge thank you must also go to Ben Stirling, an award-winning interactive designer and producer, who has delivered work to a very high standard. He’s provided web support practically all day, every day, for the entirety of the project – without his help, this website would not exist. Ben will continue to work with us as we constantly explore new avenues and improvements that could be made to the site.
And finally, thank you to Alastair Cook, to Stuart Broad, to Ian Bell and to Jimmy Anderson for providing moments of summer joy that made the not-so-good days, good.
Enjoy the website and good luck back in school!
Ben Sibley, Web Officer.
